1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using HuskyLoop ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use the Service.

HuskyLoop is a marketplace platform provided for members of the University of Connecticut community to buy and sell items.

2. Eligibility

You must be:

• A current student, faculty, or staff member of the University of Connecticut with valid UConn credentials
• At least 18 years of age or have permission from a parent or guardian
• Capable of forming a binding contract under applicable law

3. User Accounts

Authentication is handled through UConn's Central Authentication Service (CAS). You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your UConn credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Prohibited Items and Conduct

Users may NOT list or sell:

• Illegal items or services
• Stolen, counterfeit, or unauthorized goods
• Weapons, drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products
• Items that violate University of Connecticut policies
• Academic materials in violation of academic integrity policies

Users must NOT:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings
• Engage in harassment, abuse, or threatening behavior
• Attempt to circumvent the platform for transactions
• Scrape, copy, or misuse platform data
• Impersonate other users or entities

5. Listings and Content

By creating a listing, you:

• Confirm you have the right to sell the item
• Provide accurate descriptions and honest representation
• Grant HuskyLoop a license to display your content on the platform
• Are responsible for the accuracy of your listings

We reserve the right to remove any listing that violates these terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

6. Transactions

Important: HuskyLoop is a PLATFORM ONLY. We do not:

• Process payments or handle money
• Ship or deliver items
• Verify the quality or condition of items
• Guarantee any transaction
• Act as an escrow service

All transactions occur directly between buyers and sellers. You are solely responsible for:

• Arranging payment methods
• Meeting safely for exchanges
• Inspecting items before purchase
• Resolving disputes with other users

7. Safety Guidelines

For your safety, we recommend:

• Meeting in public, well-lit locations on campus
• Bringing a friend to exchanges
• Inspecting items thoroughly before payment
• Using secure payment methods

8. Ratings and Reviews

Users may rate and review transactions. You agree that:

• Ratings should be honest and based on actual experiences
• Reviews must not contain harassment or defamatory content
• We may remove reviews that violate our policies
• Ratings are subjective opinions of individual users

9. Service Changes

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time
• Change features or functionality
• Update these Terms of Service

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes. Continued use of the service after modifications constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

10. Intellectual Property

The HuskyLoop platform, including its design, code, and branding, is protected by intellectual property laws. Users retain ownership of content they post, but grant HuskyLoop a license to use, display, and distribute that content on the platform.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• HuskyLoop is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the service
• We are not responsible for user conduct or transactions
• We do not guarantee the accuracy of listings or user information
• Users assume all risks associated with buying and selling

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HuskyLoop, its operators, and the University of Connecticut from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the service
• Your listings or transactions
• Your violation of these terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for:

• Violation of these Terms of Service
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abuse of the platform or other users
• Any reason at our sole discretion

14. Dispute Resolution

Disputes between users should be resolved directly between the parties involved. For issues with the platform itself, please contact us through the appropriate channels.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut.
